Pilar Gonzalo is a cultural manager specialised in contemporary art, communication and management of non-profit cultural organisations. She is the director of the Culture Forum and good practice in Spain (www.culturaybuenaspracticas.org) and works in the area of Digital Projects of the Reina Sofía Museum. She also teaches in a number of professional postgraduate courses and writes about cultural management and policies.
Previously, she worked in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) of New York, has been a professor of art and aesthetics in a public university and was Technical Director of the Institute of Contemporary Art (IAC). She also has considerable experience as a manager and consultant on content in a series of publications and cultural initiatives.
Pilar holds a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from Seton Hall University, NJ, in the speciality of Nonprofits Arts Administration, thanks to a Fulbright Scholarship for the Extension of Artistic and Cultural Management Studies in the USA, awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
